Man at work makes the field take cover!
Appleby stings the competition with a 59 to win Greenbrier Classic

Stuart Appleby used a bag of Callaway equipment to become the fifth player in PGA Tour history to shoot a 59 in a PGA Tour event and, in the process, win the Greenbrier Classic by a stroke. Appleby used the FT Tour Driver (8.5 degrees), a Diablo Edge Tour 15-degree Fairway Wood, an X-Forged 3-iron, X-Prototype Irons (4-PW), X-Forged Wedges (54- and 58-degree), the Tour i(z) Golf Ball and the Odyssey White Hot XG 330 Mallet Putter.
In case you missed it, Appleby also showed off his trusted Callaway Tour i(z) ball on camera in his post-round interview when he displayed his lucky apple and bee logo on his golf ball. Get it? It’s an apple with a bee on it and his name is Appleby.
8th PGA win of 2010 for Callaway FT Tour Driver

With Appleby’s come-from-behind win, the Callaway FT Tour Driver has won eight times on the PGA Tour this season. Callaway drivers have won 9 times overall. (Graeme McDowell’s win with the FT-3 Driver at the U.S. Open was the other. I know you were going to ask.)
13th PGA Tour win of 2010 season for Odyssey Putters

Appleby’s win was the 13th PGA Tour victory of the season for Odyssey putters, more than any other manufacturer.
Another senior major for Odyssey
The winner of the Senior U.S. Open used the Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Long Putter. The victory came one week after he used the same putter to win the Senior British Open. This guy and his putter just keep kicking ass on the other seniors, which sounds a bit criminal if you ask me.
NOTES
Odyssey takes top 2 spots again

The second-place finisher on the PGA Tour used the Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Putter to finish at 21-under-par. It was the second consecutive week that Odyssey has taken the top two spots on the PGA Tour. Last week, Odyssey users finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Here are some stats from Stuart Appleby’s final round:

On Sunday, Appleby averaged 301 yards off the tee, hit 79 percent of fairways, needed just 23 putts, and averaged 1.333 putts per GIR.
Appleby’s averages for the tournament:
For the week, Appleby averaged 1.632 putts per GIR (2nd best in the field) and 27 putts per round (3rd best in the field) using his Odyssey White Hot XG 330 Mallet putter. He also averaged 307 yards off the tee with his FT Tour Driver and hit 73% of fairways. He hit 80 percent of greens in regulation for the week.
Callaway Diablo Edge woods finish 2nd at Women’s British Open

Rarely does a player use clubs from the same product lineup—even if all their clubs are from one club company—but every wood in the bag of the 2nd place finisher at the Women’s British Open was from Callaway’s Diablo Edge line. She used a Diablo Edge Tour Driver (10.5 degrees), Diablo Edge Tour 15- and 18-degree fairway woods, Diablo Edge Tour 21- and 24-degree hybrids, X-Forged Irons (5-9).
Also at the Ricoh Women’s British Open, Callaway Staff Pro Morgan Pressel finished eighth at 4-under-par. Pressel shot 77-71-65-71. Momoko Ueda tied for ninth place.
On the PGA European Tour, the 2nd and 3rd place finishers at Sunday’s 3 Irish Open were using Odyssey putters.
Lyda the prophet

If you’re looking for someone to help you pick your lottery numbers, you might want to try Callaway PGA rep Barry Lyda. Barry did an interview at the Greenbrier Classic last Tuesday with a local sports reporter and told him 59 was possible and that it would be even better if a Callaway guy did it on Sunday to win. Nice job, Nostradamus.

Three TaylorMade Victories Bring Worldwide Driver Win Count to 39
Fred Funk Captures Jeld-Wen Tradition Playing R9 SuperTri, Penta TP Golf Ball
Arjun Atwal Earns Breakthrough PGA Tour Win at Wyndham Championship Playing Burner SuperFast
Peter Hanson Wins Czech Open for Second European Tour Victory of 2010
Story
TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff professional Fred Funk won the JELD-WEN Tradition for the second time in three years; it was his third career senior major championship. A final-round 69 capped a near-flawless week off the tee for the deadly-accurate Funk, who hit 54 of 56 fairways (96.4%) playing the R9 SuperTri driver to rank first in driving accuracy at the Crosswater Club at Sunriver Resort. Funk also played the Penta TP golf ball, a Burner SuperFast 3-wood, R9 TP irons and TP xFT ZTP wedges.
TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Arjun Atwal earned a landmark victory at the Wyndham Championship, becoming the first Indian-born player to win on the PGA Tour and the first Monday qualifier to win in 24 years. Atwal, 37, played a Burner SuperFast driver and ranked T3 in driving accuracy (80.3%) and 14th in driving distance (300.4). The win certifies that Atwal will secure his PGA Tour card for 2011.
Across the Atlantic, TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staffer Peter Hanson bolstered his chances of earning a spot on the European Ryder Cup team by winning the Czech Open in a three-way playoff. Hanson, who played the Burner SuperFast and Penta TP, moved up to eighth place in the Ryder Cup rankings with just one event remaining before qualifiers are finalized. The Swede’s victory was fueled by remarkably consistent driving, as he finished second in driving accuracy (76.8%) and 16th in driving distance (306.5).
The three wins increase TaylorMade's worldwide driver win total to 39 in 2010 – more than any other brand.

"I told my caddie, 'We've got nothing to lose this week. Just go out there and try and win it,” Atwal said. “Guys are going to be out there trying to secure their FedEx Cup spots or whatever. We've got nothing. I don't have a card. I don't have anything. Just go out there and free-wheel it, and that's what I did this week."
